Ask any of our resellers what prompted them to choose SherWeb as a cloud partner and they’ll often mention our top-notch technical support or free customer migration.

David Wilming tells a different story. As far as he’s concerned, half the battle is finding a cloud partner with a user-friendly portal. Wilming is the cofounder of Nimbus Logic, a cloud reseller based in Albany, NY. He joined SherWeb’s Partners First program about a year ago after a frustrating experience with another distributor.

Wilming said that Cumulus, SherWeb’s portal, is so easy to use compared with the complexity of the TechData portal.

Monthly Recurring Revenue of $15,000

Since joining Partners First, Nimbus Logic has racked up a Monthly Recurring Revenue of more than $15,000 for Office 365. Wilming said Nimbus is focused on the cloud and also sells solutions such as email security, email encryption, Office 365 training and cloud-to-cloud backup to small- and medium-sized businesses across the U.S. Most of their approximately 500 clients are health and insurance companies that are highly regulated.

Nimbus is a Microsoft Gold Partner for Office 365 which means it has met standards to provide 24/7/365 technical support to its clients and bill them on a monthly basis. If a client has a difficult technical problem, Nimbus can turn to Microsoft for help.

3% Cheaper Than Microsoft

Wilming said Nimbus sells products like Office 365 for about 3% below Microsoft’s price, which he said is much lower than prices charged by larger companies like Rackspace and AppRiver. He said Nimbus is able to do this because SherWeb offered them an Elite Partner discount in exchange for a commitment to bring in more than 1000 Office 365 seats in a short period.

Nimbus also offers guidance to non-profit organizations that are interested in getting Office 365 at a discounted price or by donation. Wilming said these organizations often need help migrating their email and applications to the cloud.

Aside from its office in Albany, Nimbus has a second location in Dallas, TX. Some might suggest this is a lot of work for a company of only 15 employees. Wilming doesn’t agree.

Being Wooed by Big Distributors

Wilming admits that both TechData and Ingram Micro have been trying to get his company to leave SherWeb, but he doesn’t see the need to move.

Now that they’ve conquered Office 365, what’s next in line for Nimbus Logic? Wilming said he wants to develop a strong offering for Skype for Business. Nimbus currently has one client in a pilot project and he’s confident it will take off.
