Tier-4 Data Center:
SherWeb's tier-4 data center is the most robust and costly data center you can have. It is equipped with redundant systems for power and cooling, with multiple distribution paths that are active and fault tolerant. Furthermore, access is controlled with biometric readers and single-person entryways and gaseous fire suppression. The cabling infrastructure has a redundant backbone, and the facility can permit very little hours of downtime per year.
Supported Protocols: POP, IMAP, SMTP, RPC over HTTPS:
RPC over HTTPS (Remote Procedure Call through secure http) is a crypted connection mode (with a 128 bits SSL certificate) that allows your
Outlook to act as if our Exchange servers were located on your local network.
The classic POP, SMTP and IMAP protocols are also available.
NOTE: the use of RPC over HTTPS requires Windows XP or later.
Storage Area Network (SAN):
SherWeb has a storage area network (SAN) architecture to attach remote computer storage devices such as
disk array controllers,
tape libraries and CD arrays to
servers in such ways that to the operating system devices appear as locally attached devices. SANs are usually uncommon outside larger organizations.

SherWeb's infrastructure uses a group of machines that are networked together and used as a single unit to run parallel programs and prevent downtime in case of hardware failure.
