Even though SharePoint is used by many of the largest organizations across North America, some doubt persist about the future and relevance of Microsoft’s collaboration suite. SherWeb is confident that SharePoint is here to stay because of the essential role that it plays as a facilitator of day-to-day tasks and an enabler for business productivity.

All in all, the future of SharePoint lies in Microsoft’s hand. They determine the strategy and orientations that are steering the classic SharePoint instance and its online counterpart. With Microsoft’s growing focus on cloud offering, it is increasingly clear that the traditional on-premise SharePoint and the online version will continue to diverge in the near future. The way in which they choose to positioning these two products will reveal much about Microsoft’s overall strategy for SharePoint.

Last February, SherWeb hosted a webinar with guest speaker Christian Beauclair from Microsoft who provided some keen insight on Microsoft’s orientation plans for SharePoint. During the same webinar, Simon Langlois, SherWeb’s SharePoint Product Manager, talked about Cloud deployment for SharePoint 2013, while Mo Al-Borno, a SherWeb’s partner, added a valuable real life example that shows just how SherWeb’s offering can help businesses come to grip with dire communication and collaboration issues.
