That being said, the rising levels of remote work combined with ever-rising network traffic is putting real pressure on smaller service providers that have not been as quick to adapt to the insane explosion of their workload.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Chronic stress: an epidemic<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Chronic stress was a problem of epidemic proportions long before Covid-19. But since the pandemic began, burnout and mental health issues in\u00a0the workplace have only grown. Fifty-two percent of respondents to an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jackkelly\/2021\/04\/05\/indeed-study-shows-that-worker-burnout-is-at-frighteningly-high-levels-here-is-what-you-need-to-do-now\/?sh=1e3ea0d923bb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indeed survey<\/a>\u00a0report experiencing burnout in 2021\u2014up from 43% in their pre-pandemic survey, with 67% saying burnout has worsened during the pandemic.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The\u00a0modern technology that facilitates uninterrupted connection does wonders for efficiency, but it can also blur the boundaries between work and home life beyond recognition. Nothing has driven this home like the pandemic. When\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purelyhr.com\/blog\/work-life-balance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">work-life balance<\/a>\u00a0becomes a running joke, human beings experience burnout, and their work performance suffers too. MSPs have been crucial in facilitating this shift, and if you own or manage one, chances are you already understand how applying similar flexibility to\u00a0<em>your<\/em>\u00a0staff might be a positive. It\u2019s a mistake to separate these crucial human factors from your business\u2019s profitability. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promoting balance<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If you\u2019re not sure where to begin promoting better balance in your company culture, start by encouraging employees to prioritize tasks in their\u00a0\u2018highest and best use\u2019\u00a0(HABU).\u202fBy focusing on the tasks that are most pressing and important and saying no to everything else, employees can be more effective.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Better\u00a0yet, set a positive example by testing this out yourself.
