The New Commerce Experience (NCE) for the Microsoft CSP program is based on the same ideas that made CSP the go-to for partners that sell value-add cloud solutions in the first place. Similar to the changes seen in the release of NCE for Azure, this next phase brings new opportunities, offers, features and benefits for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Windows 365.
The NCE provides resellers with new tools to manage subscriptions more easily. The rollout for the latest NCE offerings will start in January 2022, bringing seat-based cloud offers to the forefront of this new platform—also for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Windows 365.
This launch provides partners in the CSP program with new sales capabilities, delivers operational efficiencies and drives long-term customer commitment with multiple term options.
What does this mean for you as a partner?
Microsoft’s NCE has a few important implications that partners should take note of:
- Annual term offers with competitive pricing for stable, long-term customers, better revenue predictability and discounted pricing on multi-year agreements
- Discounted pricing on annual agreements exclusive to new commerce
- New monthly-term offers with a price premium for customers who need term and seat-count flexibility
- Consistent cancellation policies for seat-based offer terms in new commerce (limited to the first 72 hours of the term with prorated refund)
- Easier processing of subscription and billing data and enhanced subscription management capabilities
Starting October 1, Microsoft will be launching incentives for new commerce transactions in the CSP program under the Microsoft Commerce Incentive program (MCI) for direct bill partners, indirect providers and indirect resellers.
Equally important with new commerce, partners can address a broad spectrum of customer scenarios. You can also expect the rollout to continue with additional features and new offer launches exclusive to NCE. Currently confirmed capabilities to look forward to are three-year terms for Microsoft 365, exclusively in new commerce and expected in March 2022.
Moving to the NCE will help partners strategically position their business for future growth and as a result building broader and more sustainable revenue streams in CSP with less licensing complexity and cost.
